Serv-U includes support for two HTTP-based file transfer clients: FTP Voyager JV and the Web Client. While both clients support standard file transfer actions, they were each designed to meet specific needs beyond simple upload and downloads. Use the table below to decide which one is best for you.

Folder Synchronization

Synchronize Folders allows you to mirror files and folders between computers.

File Seach

Search for files using the file searching feature. Wildcards are also supported.

HTTP/HTTPS

Uses the HTTP protocol to communicate with Serv-U. Using HTTPS secures the connection with industry-standard SSL encryption.

Cross-platform Support

FTP Voyager JV is compatible with the Windows, Linux, and Solaris operating systems. The Web Client works on any computer using Internet Explorer 6.0+ ,Mozilla Firefox 1.0+, Safari, Opera and Chrome.

Thumbnail View

Remote images can be viewed as thumbnails sent by Serv-U to conserve bandwidth and decrease load times.

Slideshow View

View larger thumbnails of each picture in succession with the click of a button.

Built-in Media Player

Stream audio and video files using the Media Player in the Web Client. Use the Playlist option to turn a directory into a streaming audio jukebox.

Available for All Editions

FTP Voyager is available for all three editions of Serv-U but is licensed separately. The Web Client is available in all Serv-U editions.

Drag and Drop Support

Transfers can be initiated by dragging files and folders from one location to another. This works even when the source and destination file systems are the same.

Move Files and Folders

Moving files and folders not only transfers the items, but deletes them from the source location once the transfer successfully completes.

Upload support for files over 2GB

A limitation of the Web Client is the inability to upload files larger than 2GB. FTP Voyager JV solves this problem and allows uploading of all files regardless of size.

Resume Failed Transfers

FTP Voyager JV has the ability to resume a file transfer if a problem occured that terminated the transfer process.
