Our GOLD and SILVER editions now ship with Web Client Pro, a browser plug-in that allows people to transfer multiple files and large files (>2GB) through their web browser via drag-and-drop.

Serv-U includes support for multiple HTTP-based file transfer clients: FTP Voyager JV , the Web Client, and the Web Client Pro. While each client supports standard file transfer actions, they were each designed to meet specific needs beyond simple upload and downloads. Use the table below to decide which one is best for you.

Synchronize Folders allows you to mirror files and folders between computers.

Search for files using the file searching feature. Wildcards are also supported.

Uses the HTTP protocol to communicate with Serv-U. Using HTTPS secures the connection with industry-standard SSL encryption.

FTP Voyager JV and the Web Client Pro are compatible with the Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems. The Web Client works on any computer using Internet Explorer 6.0+, Mozilla Firefox 1.0+, Safari, Opera, or Chrome.

Remote images can be viewed as thumbnails sent by Serv-U to conserve bandwidth and decrease load times.

View larger thumbnails of each picture in succession with the click of a button.

Stream audio and video files using the Media Player in the Web Client and Web Client Pro. Use the Playlist option to turn a directory into a streaming audio jukebox.

FTP Voyager is available for all three editions of Serv-U but is licensed separately. The Web Client is available in all Serv-U editions.

FTP Voyager JV allows for multiple concurrent uploads as well as simultaneous uploading and downloading of files.

Transfers can be initiated by dragging files and folders from one location to another. This works even when the source and destination file systems are the same.

Moving files and folders not only transfers the items, but deletes them from the source location once the transfer successfully completes.

A limitation of the Web Client is the inability to upload files larger than 2GB. FTP Voyager JV and Web Client Pro solve this problem and allow uploading of all files regardless of size.

FTP Voyager JV and Web Client Pro have the ability to resume a file transfer if a problem occured that terminated the transfer process.
